Tshopo District

It is situated in the northeast of the country on the Tshopo River, for which it is named.
Tshopo is one of 25 proposed provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo specified in the country's 2006 Constitution, due to take effect no later than February 2009.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 Constitution de la République démocratique du Congo: Article 2 )〕
The province was to be formed from Tshopo District and the city of Kisangani, which would be the capital.〔(【引用サイトリンク】Provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo )〕

The district administrator from 14 September 2005 was Maurice Tony Ngoy.
